Camelina Oil is a high omega 3 oil from the Camelina plant that is a powerful anti-inflammatory. It contains 36% Alpha Linolenic Acid which is the omega 3 and one of three that are essential for dogs. It’s the most stable omega oil due to naturally occurring vitamin E. Other oils typically add a chemical preservative – Dl-Alpha-Tocopherol which is synthetic vitamin E (only 50% potency vs. natural). When an omega oil loses viability, it becomes pro-inflammatory and may worsen symptoms, so stability is a key feature. Camelina oil has nothing added and does not require any processing to ‘clean’ the oil of possible contaminants.
